![]() Advertise cheap: [Click here] Date: 8 Feb 2008 - Author: Kut - Category: Kut & Pasted News - Views: 472 God, how I love youtube. Plenty of news, videos, photos and lord knows how you people love wrestlers making fun of themselves. TNA DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THE LEVITY OF THE SITUATIONIt took me a while to wrap my mind around that one. It was a quip by our favorite WWE cast off and eternal mid-carder, Road Dogg/BG James. The irony of the statement is "levity" literally means the LACK of seriousness- It's like the opposite of serious- Just like Road Dogg. How the mighty fall. Road Dogg used to be one of the most well liked wrestlers in the world, delivering what used to be the world’s greatest introduction next to Buffer's. Now he's tag teaming with his 67 year old father. TNA is still my second favorite show next to Raw. I like it better than Smackdown and light years better than ECW. But some of the things they are doing leave me scratching my head, literally. For instance, lately, they have been stealing WWE stories and gimmicks. They aren't even being subtle about it. It's like they are taunting the WWE, which isn't the greatest idea I can think of-- but maybe they have a long term plan? Getting sued by Vince just doesn't strike me as a brilliant idea. 1. Shark Boy 24:7. It's a tad funny, I admit. But they stole the music, the drink swilling, the walk, talk and vest of Stone Cold. I just don’t see this as a great plan for a budding company. This is called ‘novelty’ and I see it wearing off quickly. 2. Bad Singing Diva, Christy Hemme. Don West even said "Please don't let her sing!" a couple of times. I'll be expecting the album to hit web stores soon. The "Rock and Rave Infection" also sounds rather familiar, doesn't it? WWE Diva, Jillian Hall has the gimmick of a horrible pop singer. Which is rumored to be making fun of Hulk Hogan’s daughter’s singing career. She even has an album out. The Rock ‘N Sock Connection, of WWE fame has reason to beef about this as well. 3. Kurt Angle saying "I'm better than you" exactly like a certain WWE up and comer. It is possible that MVP stole the gimmick himself, I've heard. But Angle is saying it EXACTLY like MVP says it. 4. The entire Kane/Undertaker story down to the bastard son part. I mean Abyss was always a Kane/Mankind rip off, but now he's completing the effect. Judas is definitely no Undertaker, but good lord is he trying. James Mitchell might as well carry around a f'n urn. 5. Gold I mean "Black Rain". Sure, the rat adds a new dynamic to Goldust, but it's also been done with Snakes in the WWE. 6. Of course "Black Machismo" makes the list. I think the reasons are obvious for long time wrestling fans. I've always thought TNA was booked like an efed but now it's getting ridiculous. Booker T, "Backstage Heat"People are still reporting that Booker T is in some sort of trouble with TNA, even tho he's still appearing on Impact and is still promenantly on the front of TNA's website. « Booker-T has been reported to be running his mouth constantly . He even told the Dudleys and Hoyt that their schools(Hoyt is a PCW trainer and Dudleys have a school in florida) were a joke and their students had no talent. Booker-T actually went to the Dudley's school and insulted their students saying they wasted their money and was chased out by one of their student (Pat Break, 6'4 285lbs) Booker-T has also been reported of saying he saved TNA, according to Devon Booker said "I dont need TNA, TNA needs me"..God what a douche. »That's a quote from one of my forum members, by the way. I didn't hear or read this quote anywhere myself. http://roughkut.com/kamp_v2/index.php?showtopic=10108-- It's supposed to be on the Team 3d Website http://team3dacademy.com/ but I didn't hear it or see it. Even if Booker did say these things, it's 9/10 a work. Booker's never been known to be such a prick. But news is news, even if it's completely made up. CNN and Fox prove that every day. Benoit morphing into wrestlers or vice versaSomething popped up on my forums which popped up from another forum and I thought it was kind of freaky. Apparently, on WWE's website there are photos of wrestlers appearing to be Benoit on first glance.
Random ThoughtsWhy do wrestlers still wear those bikini tights? I mean, I can totally understand a body builder wearing them to show off each and every muscle. But you have wrestlers like Rick Flair and Trevor Murdock sporting them which makes me wonder why. It's 2008, time to move on completely. Hell, even Edge joined in the panty wearing fun.
Stumbled on, by my admin-main-man, Jag on my forums; it seems Edge lost his luggage and was forced to wear Murdock's tights. For some reason, I don't buy that story but that's what the link said. There are plenty of plain tight wearing guys in the WWE; you're telling me Murdock's was the only one available at the time? Me thinks Edge was the victim of a prank or he lost a bet. F*ck Edge, he deserves whatever bet he lost, the ass cowboy. Lance Cade was probably pretty jealous. Comments: 10

Hoyt and Rave look like they have Guitar Hero guitars there. This is the top reason why I don't like TNA. They do these things because they think they're entertaining. They were much better when they just put on great X-Division matches and WWE Castoffs weren't all over the main event scene. Russo = Crap. This is a very well-written piece. I think you should submit your work to wrestling mags. I think that TNA copying WWE is a good idea. Pepsi Cola appeared on the market three years after Coca Cola. Their recipe was, not by accident, nearly identical. Why? Because Coca Cola was selling a lot of soft drinks. Pepsico is now one of the most successful beverage manufacturers on the planet. Would that have happened if they'd started out by selling cream soda rather than a copy of Coke? I don't know, but I highly doubt it. Since its beginnings, promoters have "borrowed" ideas from each other. One company would try tag-teams, cage matches, ringside managers, etc., and if it worked, others would follow. It's ALWAYS been that way, with wrestling, and every other form of entertainment/activity/product. Also, pro wrestling is marketed, primarily, to children. For the most part, it is only the fans who are much too old for wrestling that care whether or not an idea is being reused. The kids are just having fun watching tough guys pretend to fight. To be honest, I think that's the way it ought to be. I myself very much prefered the TNA that Triple B describes, but I'm one of those "much too old for wrestling" folks. Thank you all! Gotta disagree, Jim. While it's expected for a wrestling company to copy good wrestling ideas, such as match types and moves, etc, it's not very respectable to mimic characters and stories. It can be funny, but it's a novelty and that's not going to help a budding company. Russo has done this before in WCW, so I suspect his handy work. Russo was behind "Oklahoma" and the Hulk Hogan rip offs in WCW. I enjoy TNA, highly, but this trend of copying WWE doesn't make me happy. Like I said. TNA just needs to stick to what they do best. Showcasing X-Division wrestlers, and some main eventers that other companies (WWE) doesn't have or has had. They seem so obsessed with BEING the WWE, that they come off as a cheap rip-off. It CAN be funny in moderation. But when it's from almost the beginning to the end of the card, it doesn't make if funny. It makes is sad. They have taken that "special" thing that set them APART from the WWE (X-Division) that the WWE couldn't book correctly if they were GIVEN every single Cruiserweight in the business for free, and made it a big joke by letting WWE-castoffs shit all over it. THAT is why TNA won't ever get over that ratings hump. THAT is why they won't be able to run shows on the road to compete with WWE consistantly. THAT is why they'll never be more than what they are. A well-produced indy fed. And that's all. [answer] [q] Reply to Triple B: Comment # 5 | {answer} [/q] [/answer] 6. Triple B | 8 Feb 2008 - 20:14
Oh, and because I forgot to say it, this WAS a great column, Kut. I liked the Smackdown Diary, but this is alot better. [answer] [q] Reply to Triple B: Comment # 6 | {answer} [/q] [/answer] 7. Mitch | 8 Feb 2008 - 23:10
great article Kut, I agree with everything you said about TNA. I have been a fan of TNA since late 2005, now while they have grown bigger and have gained a lot of mainstream media i think a lot of their ideas and their booking style is pure crap. They have an amazing roster and can easily come up with better stuff and better matches than what the WWE is doing...problem is they don't have a great booking method. Part of this could be b/c the orlando crowd in the impact zone are so damn easy to please...they cheer for everything pretty much and will call a match "awesome" 2 seconds into the match before anything even happens. they cheer everything...TNA experiments shit with the crowd and get a shit load of cheers so it might be hard for them to realize "this idea is crao" if everyone in the crowd is being overly excited. I agree with the B. TNA needs to stop with the act. I don't watch circuses. This will be funny. But this is wrestling, not comedy. [answer] [q] Reply to The Spike: Comment # 8 | {answer} [/q] [/answer] 9. Mitch | 9 Feb 2008 - 17:30
